The Art Shoppe
Celebrating Creativity on the Saugeen Peninsula
Tucked into the heart of Lion's Head, on the shores of Georgian Bay, The Art Shoppe calls home one of the town's most storied buildings — the original Tackaberry's General Store, a landmark of the community since the early 1900s.
Where locals once gathered for everyday essentials, visitors today discover an inspiring collection of original works from over 35 local artists, spanning paintings, pottery, sculpture, printmaking, jewellery, and more. Every piece in the shop is created by artists rooted in the Saugeen Peninsula and surrounding region, making The Art Shoppe a genuine reflection of the talent and creative spirit that defines this remarkable corner of Ontario.
For those who want to go beyond admiring and try their own hand at creating, The Art Shoppe regularly hosts hands-on workshops led by some of the very artists whose work lines the walls.
The Art Shoppe also carries a wide variety of DIY art & craft kits for both kids and adults. We take pride in sourcing these from Canadian companies, with most coming from Canadian woman-owned businesses.
Whether you're looking for a one-of-a-kind piece to bring home, a unique creative experience, a handmade gift, or simply a beautiful way to spend an afternoon, the Art Shoppe offers something truly worth finding.
Open Friday through Monday, 10 to 5 in May and June, 7 days a week in the summer.
